A couple inches to the right, and a three point shot would have put Davidson into the Final Four. But it wasn't to be, and the Kansas Jayhawks kept them at bay, defeating the Wildcats by two. The final score 59-57 gives some insight of the battle that was involved, the two teams staying within a few points of each other all afternoon. Congratulations to the Davidson Wildcats on an amazing NCAA Tournament run, I think everyone outside of Kansas was pulling for you tonight. When all the other games of the Elite 8 were won conviningly, Davidson took their game to the very end. That was the best four quarters of basketball all weekend. The Final Four, April 5th, 2008.The four number 1 seeds will meet in the Final Four for the first time in NCAA Tournament history. I guess the selection committee got it right this year. Memphis will tip off against UCLA at 6:07pm, then North Carolina will take on Kansas at 8:47pm. National Championship Commemorative Watches.Monday night a National Champion will be crowned. CollegeWatchStore.com will be the first place you will find Officially-Licensed Commemorative Watches for the 2008 National Basketball Champions. All the Number 1 seeds made it through the Sweet 16 unscathed. But with the Elite 8 starting tonight, can the first seeds continue their run? Is it possible that all Number 1 seeds will make it to the Final Four, or will someone rise to spoil the brackets for thousands of college basketball fans. March Madness is boiling over as the first game of the Elite 8 starts tonight. In the West, the first seeded UCLA Bruins face off against the Xavier Muskateers at 6:40pm tonight. ACC power house and #1 seed UNC Tar Heels will face the Louisville Cardinals from the Big East tonight at 9:05pm. Then tomorrow, first seed Memphis Tigers and #2 seed Texas Longhorns will tip off at 2:20pm. And in the final game of the Elite 8, Davidson, a Number 10 seed, looks to continue their underdog run as they challenge Number 1 seed Kansas at 5:05pm tomorrow.
Saturday Night Update:UCLA defeated Xavier 76 - 57 and the North Carolina Tar Heels beat Louisville 83 to 73. That's two of the Final Four set, with both Number 1 Seeds advancing. The Memphis /Texas game tomorrow afternoon should be as exciting as the two games today and the Kansas /Davidson game should be something special. In 24 hours will know who completes the 2008 Final Four and heads to San Antonio. Stay tuned. |
